Bruce B Bishop, FSA Scot, ASGRA

Bruce B Bishop has been a professional genealogist and local history researcher for 16 years. Now based in Fife, his research service covers genealogy, local and social history across all of Scotland.
Educated in Walsall, Bruce worked for 20 years as a meteorologist before taking up a teaching post at Gordonstoun School in Moray. The author of two books, 'Lost Moray and Nairn' and 'Lost Badenoch and Strathspey', both commissioned by the Edinburgh publishers Birlinn, he has also written a series of booklets, 'The Lands and People of Moray', covering the pre-1850 histories of the parishes of Moray, and is working on an ongoing series 'Banffshire, the People and the Lands', covering the pre-1850 histories of the parishes of the old county of Banffshire.
Currently on the Executive of SAFHS (Scottish Association of Family History Societies), Bruce represents family history societies on various bodies including the ScotlandsPeople user group, the National Committee on Carved Stones in Scotland, and Visit Scotland's Ancestral Tourism Steering Group.
As a member of ASGRA, the only professional association of genealogists in Scotland, a strict code of practice has to be adhered to, assuring the client of a high standard of professionalism.
